VISA INFORMATION

 

CITIZENS WHO DO NOT NEED VISAS

  • AGCC Citizens - Citizens of the Arab Gulf Council member states do not need a visa to enter the UAE.
  • AGCC Residents - AGCC expatriates residents who meet certain conditions may obtain a non-renewable 30 day visa upon arrival at the approved ports of entry.

CITIZENS WHO ARE ISSUED VISAS ON ARRIVAL

  • UK Citizens - UK Citizens with the right of abode in United Kingdom do not need to obtain visa in advance.
  • Western Europe - France, Italy, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Finland, Spain, Monaco, Vatican City, Iceland , Andorra, San Marino, and Liechtenstein.
  • Other Countries - USA, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong and South Korea.

CITIZENS OF ALL OTHER COUNTRIES NEED VISAS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL

  • Airlines may require confirmation that the sponsor is holding a valid visa for the incoming visitor.

THERE ARE SEVERAL TYPES OF VISAS FOR VISITORS TO DUBAI.

  • Entry Service Permit - An Entry Service Permit applies to businessmen and tourists. It requires the sponsorship of companies or hotels licensed to operate within the UAE. This visa is valid for use within 14 days from date of issue. The duration of stay is 14 days from the date of entry, exclusive of arrival and departure days. It is non-renewable.
  • Visit Visas - The Visit Visa applies to tourists who wish to spend more than 14 days in Dubai, those coming for family visits as well as those on long term business visits. It requires the sponsorship of any UAE resident or any company or hotel licensed to operate within the UAE. This visa is valid for entry within two months from its date of issue. The Visit Visa is valid for 60 days and is renewable for a total stay of upto 90 days. A fee of Dhs 500 is charged for this renewal. A Visit Visa further entitles its holder to change his status to that of residence or employment provided certain conditions are met. The Visit Visa holder may enter and leave the country through any port of entry in the UAE.
  • Tourist Visas - A special category under the Visit Visa type is a Tourist Visa. The Tourist Visa entitles its holder to a 30 day stay and is non-renewable. The Tourist Visa requires the sponsorship of hotels and tour operators who bring in visitors.
  • Multiple-Entry Visas - Multiple-entry Visas are availed to business visitors who has a relationship with either a multinational or other reputable local establishments, and who are frequent visitors to the UAE. This type of visa is valid for six months from the date of replica omega issue and the duration of each stay is 30 days. The validity is non-renewable. The visitor must enter the UAE on a visit visa and obtain the multiple entry visa while in the country. The visa would be stamped on the passport.
  • Transit Visas - this is a special type of visa which applies to passengers passing through UAE airports. The passenger can obtain a visa for upto 96 hours. The travel document will be stamped with an entry seal. The visa is only valid if the passenger is traveling onwards from Dubai to another destination and not returning to the country of original departure. Emirates Airlines provides visas to its transit passengers. Passengers flying other Airlines can contact Marhaba which offers personalized meet and assist services at the airport.
  • 96-hour Visa for Transit Passengers - Transit passengers stopping at Dubai International Airport for a minimum of 5 hours are eligible for obtaining a 96-hour transit visa to go on a city tour of Dubai. Passengers planning to go on the city tours have to approach the City Tours Desk in the Arrivals Lounge to make a booking for one of the several tours on offer against a nominal fee ranging from Dhs 95 – Dhs 115 for adults and Dhs 65 for children. This facility will be granted on a case-by-case basis. The visa is issued free but the tour service is chargeable as above.
